THE GREEN LANTERN RELAUNCH BY GRANT MORRISON AND LIAM SHARP

Writer Grant Morrison and Artist Liam Sharpe are relaunching DC Comics Green Lantern franchise this coming November. They intend to focus on lead character Hal Jordan's life as a space cop

“Instead of the big, epic, 12-part stories, we’re focusing down on the everyday life of a space cop. Basically, it’s no more apocalypse-ending storylines,” Morrison told IGN over a phone interview along with Sharp. “The basic concept is that [Hal Jordan] is like a space cop that patrols a sector of the universe where anything can happen. We’ve made it more like a police procedural.”

FOX: BOB BURGER MOVIE ANNOUNCED FOR 2020

20th Century Fox has announced its popular animated series Bob's Burgers will receive a feature film to be released on July 17, 2020.

“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen,” show creator Loren Bouchard said in a statement (via Deadline). “We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR REVOLVES AROUND "IMPORTANT CHARACTERS"

Screen Rant interviewed with director Joe Russo during last week’s San Diego Comic-Con about balancing around importanct character for the Avengers:Infinity war

Screen Rant: We’ve heard rumors that there are 60+ MCU characters in the film. Who does the story really center around in Infinity War?

Joe Russo:
You know, the story really centers who you would expect it to center around, so our more important characters. This is a culmination film ten years in the making and we are pulling the main story threads from all of the different franchises into one unifying narrative. So any of the important characters are going to be in this film and they are going to have something important to do in the movie.

JOE RUSSO WANTS TO TURN THANOS INTO THE NEXT DARTH VADER

Speaking to ComicBook.com at Comic-Con International: San Diego, Russo says he wants to put Thanos on the same level as Darth Vader, the instantly recognizable villain of the Star Wars universe.

“The stakes are incredibly high,” Russo says of the situation in Avengers: Infinity War. “I wanted to turn Thanos into Darth Vader for a new generation. He’s an incredibly intense character. Sociopathic. He takes no prisoners. I think the audience needs to be prepared when they go see these movies.”

DCEU SCHEDUES 2 UNANNOUNCED FILMS FOR 2020

Reported via TrackingBoard, the DCEU studio has scheduled two additional DC Films for release in 2020.

Just days before Comic-Con, Warner Bros. has announced it will release a pair of untitled DC movies in 2020 — one on Valentine’s Day and the other on June 5.

DCEU titles that are currently without release dates include Suicide Squad 2, Wonder Woman 2, The Batman, The Flash, Shazam, Black Adam, Gotham City Sirens, Nightwing, Batgirl, Green Lantern Corps and Justice League Dark.

Warner Bros. already has DC movies on the calendar for April 2020 (Cyborg) and July 2020, according to Box Office Mojo, so it’s possible that those dates are back in play, since it’s unlikely the studio would release two comic book movies in consecutive months.
